This jersey was given to a military officer and was told it was a Gilliam jersey. It was normal back in the 1950's to have players who were called up to wear another player's jersey from previous season. This was a big thing with the Dodgers. Jackie Robinson's first jersey was a silk, while everyone else was wearing a flannel jersey. Gilliam made his debut on April 14, 1953. So it would not be uncommon for him to have worn this jersey. Jersey shows nice game use with piping missing on top of the collar. Rawlings tagging in collar with dry clean only and a loose size 46 tag. The tail has an embroidered 1951 and on left sleeve, there is no remnant of the 1951 patch being on the jersey.
