Boggs would debut with the Red Sox in April 1992 proving that the Sox left him in the minors longer than they should have. In the 80's and 90's, he was one of the best hitters in that era. He would win 5 American League batting championship and 12X All-Star. Only thing missing was a World Series title which they had wrapped up 1986 until the ball went through Bill Buckners legs in game 6. The Red Sox would lose in 7 games to the Mets. When the 1992 season was over, Boggs would leave the only team he had known to join the New York Yankees after they offered him a three year contract. Boggs would come back to life with the Yankees hitting over .300 in all three seasons with the Yanks and winning 2 Gold Gloves. The 1996 season would welcome the Yankee rookies that would become known as the Core Four which was Jeter, Posada, Rivera and Pettite. Led by veterans like Boggs, Raines and Fielder the Yankees would win the 1996 World Series in 6 games against the Braves. Boggs would finally win a World Series. Hat is from circa 1994/96 era. Under brim has Boggs number 12 and signed in black. Proper New Era 5950 tagging and correct 7 1/4 size. JSA ALOA.
