This football is from Ray Lewis's first interception of the 2001 season. Lewis would declare for the NFL draft following his Jr. season. The Ravens would draft him with their 2nd first round pick. He would be selected to USA All-Rookie team. He would also lead the Ravens in tackles with 110. 2000 would be a dream season with Lewis leading the Raven to the Super Bowl. The Raven defense would lead the league in almost all defensive categories including 4 shut outs. The Ravens would crush the Giants in Super Bowl XXV by a score of 34-7. 2001 would be another big season as he would lead the Ravens with an amazing 162 tackles earning his fifth straigh Pro Bowl selection. A 12-time Pro Bowl selection, Lewis received first-team All-Pro honors eight times during his career. He was recognized as the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2000 and 2003, and was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 2000's. Lewis is the only player in the NFL history with at least 40 career sacks and 30 career interceptions. He is also a member of the Football Hall of Fame. This is the actual interception ball from the December 23rd, 2001 gane in which the Ravens defeated the Bengals 16-0. Other side of ball has #52 Int #1 in vintage medical tape. This is the first Ray Lewis touch down ball to come up in auction.
