Rico would debut with the Sox on September 21, 1963, and would become a full time player in 1965. In 1967 he would be selected to his first All-Star team. The Red Sox would play the Cardinals in the 1967 World Series, and game 6 Rico would hit two home runs. In 1969 he would set a record for home runs as a shortstop hitting 40. With injuries affecting his play, he would retire following the 1976 season. Inside front tail has McAuliffe tagging, wash instructions, size 42 with wear on front D and wear on the back 6 and year 1974. Jersey shows game use with a little fading. Jersey has the inscription Game Used 1974. Rico originally signed the jersey in red and was re-signed in black over the red with the added inscription. JSA ALOA.
