This is the most amazing Jeter glove to come up for sale. The glove is from his 1996 Rookie Season and used in the World Series. Jeter would come up in 1995 but was not quite ready to be the next great shortstop. He would work his tail off during the off season and with Joe Torre being named the manager he would meet Jeter in spring training and a bond and trust was established. Near the end of spring training, Torre would name Jeter the starting shortstop. He would not disappoint as he quietly took over the leadership of the team. He would always be among the American League leaders in runs scored and hits for the majority of his career.Reggie Jackson was named Mr. October and Jeter was named Mr. November for his clutch play in the Post Season. In the Post Season, he would hold many records. As clutch as Jeter was in the field he shined at shortstop as he won 5 Gold Glove Awards. With his clutch hitting and fielding he would lead the Yankees to 5 World Series Championships. A little history on the glove. Two friends would go to the Turn 2 charity auction every year and the first year they auctioned off a 1995 game used Derek Jeter glove and bat. Well, friend number one purchased that glove and bat. The second-year friend number 2 purchased this glove and a bat. Bat has been sold a few years ago. Friend number 1 closed up his office and put his stuff in a storage unit that was broken into and the glove was taken. The glove comes directly from the Turn 2 foundation with paperwork. Please view our website. Glove shows really nice game use.The glove was signed back in 1996 but faded away and has been resigned over original signature. Model PRO SX and we can not make out the remainder of the number. Remarkable and historical glove. The code on the glove is LBLO1 GOLD GLOVE SERIES There is no name on the glove as he did not receive gloves with his name on it till 1997. The event was held on July 23, 1997. On paperwork, we blurred out the name of the client that purchased the glove and bat. JSA ALOA.
